Notable residents from the past and present include Janet Jackson, Howard Hughes, Bill Gates, Jenny Craig, Phil Mickelson, John Moores, and Robert Young. In the late 1930s and early 1940s, Bing Crosby drew crowds with the “Bing Crosby Clambake.” This tournament brought in professionals and celebrities to compete against each other.
